Ti’Nijah Fields, Reporter

Junior and reporter Ti’Nijah Fields has made her grand entrance for her first year in “The Rosette Media” *the orchestra strikes a triumphant chord*. One day Ti’Nijah was going to class and her friend.. *cough cough* Caro told her to join Newspaper, and she did. Now she has been having an amazing time in Newspaper; she’s met lots of new people, FUNNY people (AKA herself..) (and everyone else too…) During Ti’Nijah’s free time she’s either reading, watching movies, at rehearsals for theater, or drowning in school work (unfortunately). Her favorite color is yellow, and she loves the movies “Turtles All The Way Down” and “Where The Crawdads Sing”; the beauty of nature in the latter movie really gets to her. Her favorite shows are “The 100” and “Wednesday”. She also loves to sleep *ZzZZzZzZzZZ*. Ti’NIjah is really excited to be in “The Rosette Media” for her first year and expand her knowledge for writing. She can’t wait to have fun and make memories that’ll make her tear up every once in a while.

The mind behind a book lover:

Junior Ti’Nijah Fields finds comfort in reading.

There isn’t anything she loves more than reading. It brings her calmness and joy. At times she can never put the book down. The way she explores the pages of books, with new things and adventures to learn about is truly joyful to behold.

Junior Ti’Nijah Fields has explored and found out what she loves about reading.

“I realized I had a passion for books when I was in middle school,” Fields said. “I always used to steal my older sister’s Dork Diary books, and I used to read them because they had pictures in them and I found them interesting and fun to read.”

There’s many books out there but she loves the new adventures and traveling through the pages.

“My favorite genre is dystopian,” Fields said. “I just love the adventures that they have, like in The Hunger Games or The Maze Runner. They are really good books and are very  interesting when they go on adventures and travel. When reading it feels like I’m actually experiencing what’s happening, and it takes more turns of pages until I find out what happens next.”

She enjoys a time-worn classic, finding the history, rather than new, more comforting.

“I’d say I prefer old books because things now are so weirdly based,” Fields said. “Back then people knew how to use their words and how to jot their words down on a piece of paper. They actually write amazing tales that give a sense of comfort while reading.”

Her journey in reading and investing into new books was inspired by a YouTuber.

“Her name is Nicole Laeno,” Fields said. “She inspired me to read. I used to watch her YouTube videos all the time. I still do. She shows her college life, and sometimes does book recommendations. And watching those, that’s when I finally decided that I should start reading books more.”

The beginning of her journey turned into a new found love of self improvement.

“The last book I remember reading is definitely Every Last Word,” Fields said. “I read it last sophomore year, and I feel like it really helped me develop more and know how to successfully live my life as a teenager. Coming of age books I find really cute and inspiring.”

Books are a place of comfort that brings joy that she can always go back to while feeling safe and calm.

“My ideal reading environment is in my room while it’s raining,” Fields said. “Because when it’s raining, it gives me a sense of comfort, and the noise that the rain drops leave around my room is comforting, and it helps me focus more and get into reading. It makes it feel more in depth and makes me feel more emotions.”
