The sun rose, birds chirped. It was a regular Tuesday morning when the world changed forever. Out of nowhere the news flashed “ZOMBIE OUTBREAK! Stay indoors!” Panic swept through the city like wildfire. Now you have to find a way to survive and keep yourself safe, no matter what!
STEP 1: SEEK SHELTER! Find anywhere that has lots of food and objects or weapons to protect yourself from zombies.

History teacher Leovincent Cuadra explains where he would go for safety.
“I would stay in a supermarket because they have a lot of food that you need,” Cuadra said. “As long as I have a good group to help me out, I can have more success surviving in a store. It will have hardware and gardening tools so then I can fortify the place.”
“I would stay in a school center,” senior Elijah Muniz Cooks said. “There will be no windows which means no zombies can come in. If some do end up going in I’ll have a large alarm system that will make a loud noise, which will be a sign to barricade my doors and grab weapons and be prepared.”
STEP 2: ASSEMBLE YOUR SURVIVAL SQUAD. Why? Because every hero needs sidekicks, plus someone to watch your back while you nap.

“I would get a tiger,” junior David Jaramillo said. “Because of how strong and fast they are, I will be able to train them to eat the zombies and chase them away. I would also pick Guts from Berserk. The reason is because he is a big person that has a large sword for protection.”
“I will have raccoons,” Muniz Cooks said. “They have small hands and can be really sneaky so if I need them to grab ammo my small buddies will come to the rescue.”
STEP 3: STAY QUIET & ALERT: No loud music. Sorry, no karaoke nights.
Watch out for:
- Creaky floorboards
- Hungry zombies
- That one friend who always sneezes at the worst time
“If I end up attracting zombies, I would throw or shoot my weapon in a farther direction,” Muniz Cooks said. “Since they are sensitive I will make sounds not near my base to attract them away.”
LASTLY, STEP 4: SET TRAPS, NO INVADERS!: Easy traps can be a large net which will connect to the floor but with enough pressure it closes and will lift and sweep up the zombies.

“I would make a unique trap that is close to a trip wire,” Cuadra said. “When it happens hopefully cars or even tires would fall through, so that way we can be barricaded. And I’m gonna call it a carvalanche.”
“Mine will be named Trap Door,” Jaramillo said. “There will be zombies walking around and they will be able to fall into the trap since it will be a random hole. When they fall through there will be spikes that will be able to trap them.”
Stay safe during the apocalypse, don’t hide your bites!
