Carolina Gonzalez, Managing Editor

Junior Carolina Gonzalez has returned to “The Rosette Media” as Managing Editor, excited to start fresh once again, continuing her second year surrounding herself with the people she loves the most, making her smile ear to ear without a thought in the world. Carolina loves being indoors, playing games with her friends, and spending every given second with her parents, especially thrifting with her mom. Carolina is a huge film lover; once she watched 384 films in one year. If you know Carolina, you know she’s a hilarious human being, normally voted funniest all year round. Although 99.9% of the time she has to explain her jokes because she somehow is more chronically online than others, it’s just a funny reflection to her favorite cartoon character, Grunkle Stan, whose jokes never hit anyone the right way. Apart from that, Carolina loves editing, especially when she’s given the opportunity to mess around with funny sound effects. She’s much like Gene Belcher, being a lovable “free spirit” with a crude sense of humor and a love for sound effects. Not only does Carolina love talking into a megaphone, she also loves her Louise (Alea) and Tina (Uzo). Carolina is excited to see where this year takes her (Regionals and State.. Waxahachie has nothing against us this year!!) and is ready to learn new things and be a comfort to the new staffers!

Friendship like No Other

Junior Carolina Gonzalez shares her love for her best friend.

Reported Stephanie Martinez

After a long day of work and constant studying at school, all she wants to do is talk to her best friend and block everything else out. She’s only focusing on the conversation being held that she waited all day to have.

Junior Carolina Gonzalez met her best friend, Jacqueline Mora, in the seventh grade, during English class.

“We hit it right off the bat,” Gonzalez said. “We had the same science and English class but sat nowhere near each other in either class. She asked if she could sit near me one day and I of course said yes. We automatically bonded about certain things. The second we made eye contact something just felt right. I complimented her nails and from there we couldn’t stop talking. She spoke to me as if we were already friends.”

That day Gonzalez met a stranger that would completely change her life.

“She’s definitely different from everybody else,” Gonzalez said. “I feel like she’s the only one who knows everything about me. She’s super humble and easy to get along with. She doesn’t let things get under her skin, which is one of my favorite things about her.”

Their common interests bonded them together, and they quickly became inseparable.

“She’s my best friend, and I feel like I take that label seriously,” Gonzalez said. “She’s the only person I see myself being best friends with. If I were to ever lose her, I feel like I wouldn’t call anybody else my best friend, just because she has that title; It’s hers.”

Although their houses are close to each other, their opposite schedules make it hard for them to spend time together.

“We both have after school clubs and sports,” Gonzalez said. “It’s really hard to see each other, but we try our best to make space for each other any chance we get. We enjoy simple hangouts, going out to eat, going to church together, playing soccer together, and soon we’re going on our yearly hangout to the October Seagofest.”

She prides over this friendship and enjoys watching their bond grow.

“I definitely feel complete,” Gonzalez said. “I can’t see my life without her. She has that title of best friend forever. She’s definitely the right person and I feel I won’t find another connection like ours. She is really engraved into my life. Any chance I get, I talk about her. Anywhere I go she eventually gets brought up. She’s there in spirit. I hope we stay friends forever.”
