Emma Ibarra

This is staffer, Junior Emma Ibarra (Simon, the smart one) !! She has entered her second year in “The Rosette” Media!! During her sophomore year in Newspaper she met so many loving caring people, and it felt like a second home to her. Ibarra has always been a bit of a quiet person but when she feels comfortable enough with someone she can be a blabbermouth. She loves her best friends Michelle (David), Jasmine (Theodore), and Dailine (Alvin). The 4 of them stick together like peas in a pot. Every year, the four of them go to Six Flags and ride all the rides that people are afraid of riding. They rode one ride that ended up a bit of trouble. Michelle’s seat wasn’t buckling right, the ride started, and Emma held her seat down making sure she was secured, and her legs were flying in the air, but luckily she survived in the end. Even though the ride wasn’t as they expected it to be, they still had fun. Ibarra also loves BTS. Her and Jasmine waited years for BTS to come back from the military. Finally, next year, they all are performing. The tickets are going to be like war to get, so they’re hoping to get some before they sell out!! Emma is so excited for this year because she knows she’s going to have a great time, since she has already met lots of fun loving people in newspaper!

 Echo of a heartbeat:

Junior Emma Ibarra focuses her sights on a sonography career.

Reported by Vanessa Munoz-Rojas

Her room was quiet then a soft hum came from the machine. All of a sudden a screen flickered to life. A soft tiny heartbeat pulsing in black and white. A window to see your whole world through an unforgettable experience that will change your life.

Ibarra has found her passion is sonography when looking at future careers in the medical field, and it instantly stole her heart, becoming her lifetime goal.

“Everybody has goals,” Ibarra said. “It just seems like when you reach that goal, you’ll be excited and happy that you actually made it and will cherish it for a lifetime. It feels like a weight has been lifted as you have  a moment to realize you actually made it.”

Ibarra’s lifetime goal is on a machine screen.

“I wanna ensure the baby is okay and healthy,” Ibarra said. “I was motivated by the fact that they’re actually going to see their kid and be a good parent and be a person their kid will be inspired to be someday. Sonography has patients who change as they hear those tiny heart beats knowing their whole world has already been complete.’’

Ibarra wants to see how parents can change once they see their baby.

“Just because a person can be imperfect doesn’t mean there isn’t a small baby that knows how to touch their heart,” Ibarra said. “Love is something you can’t take away from a mother to her child. Her bond with her baby is something that could never be replaced.”

Being able to provide someone with a “mini me” is part of what motivates her.

“I find it really cute that you have a little twin of yours growing each day in your stomach,” Ibarra said. “Every story has an image, the patients just happen to be on a machine with a tiny heartbeat, and it shows how much love can fit into something so tiny.’’

To Ibarra, the sweet image was a reminder that a healthy baby defined the new person they were becoming, someone warm and gentle.

“I think it’ll be more rewarding for me to see the baby is healthy and growing,” Ibarra said. “I like to think family is bigger than anything, so being able to see people beginning to start their own and see their baby grow them as a person is very precious to see.’’
