Dailine Luna

Dailine Luna, Voice Editor

This is Voice Editor Junior Dailine Luna!! (ALVIN THE AWESOMEST) Dailine is entering her 2nd year in “The Rosette Media”. She loves her best friends Michelle(David), Emma(Simon), and Jasmine(Theodore). The four friends are stuck to each other like glue; they can’t imagine being without the rest of the group. She loves ducks so much because of her favorite band Fleshwater. All her friends are sick of her constantly blabbering her mouth off about how much she knows about each member in Fleshwater (THEY’RE SICK OF IT!!). After two years Luna finally gets to see them perform live along with Michelle. She’s never been so happy and filled with joy. She’s really thankful for her friends and family because they’ve supported her interests even if they seemed odd to them. She’s super excited about meeting new people and more upcoming opportunities. Luna hopes to improve and give it her all!

Writing & Listening Away

Junior Dailine Luna’s growth with music has never stopped.

When going on a car ride, she feels like she has entered a new world.  She thinks that the music can help the other people in the car understand how she feels. She also loves songwriting, it makes her feel at peace and able to express her thoughts. As her favorite song plays in the background, she hums along and taps her fingers against the window. The lyrics drift through the air like unspoken words she’s always wanted to say. In that moment, surrounded by sound and fading light, she feels understood without having to speak at all.

Junior Dailine Luna enjoys listening to music and grew a passion for song writing.

“It makes me feel very expressive about myself,” Luna said. “It just depends overall on how I’m feeling, for example if I’m feeling down I’ll listen to sad music.”

It all began through an important person who planted the seed that began the growth of Luna’s love and passion for music.

“My love for music started when I was around five,” Luna said. “My mom’s ex boyfriend used to be in a band, and I’d often go to shows and see musicians in person. Those experiences are what made my interest in music begin.”

Luna also discovered she had a passion not only for music but also for songwriting.

“I discovered that I like writing, but overall, I like songwriting and journalism,” Luna said. “Journaling really helps me to be very therapeutic.  I feel like music is very contagious, because everything you listen to will reflect you as a person and how you are emotionally.”

Anytime Luna went through hard times and had no one to rely on music was there for her.

“Sometimes not everybody’s gonna be there for you, and you gotta learn that you have no one else but yourself,”  Luna said. “So even if you’re sad, you really, hit rock bottom, you can listen to some happy songs, and they’ll uplift you and get you in the mood.”

When writing a song,  Luna’s goal is to reach people who can relate to what she once felt.

“I want to target people who feel stuck and can’t see a way out,” Luna said. “As I previously said, sometimes you don’t have anyone else but yourself, and music really helps people get over stuff and overcome obstacles in their life.”
