Junior and reporter Kaylee Cano has started her first year in “The Rosette Media” because a little birdy told her she should join, AKA Alea. She also joined because she wants to be more involved at school, meet new people, and go out of her comfort zone by trying new things. Kaylee is a big friend and family person, an empath with a big heart. She’s also a silly, loving, thoughtful, and energetic person. Some of her favorite things to do are spending time with her best friends, laughing, and yapping (she is very much a yapper). Kaylee loves her baby brother even though most of the time he’s a trouble maker, and she’s basically his second mom. He brought light into her life and now she can’t imagine what she’d do without him. She might have a stank face but she promises she’s a really kind person. She’s excited for what this year has to offer and she can’t wait to create fun memories.
Life full of love:
Junior Kaylee Cano and her life surrounded by friendship.

One day, you find yourself wanting a person who understands you. You’re not really sure who that person will be or when they’ll come along. Next thing you know, in the blink of an eye, you’re laughing and sharing your favorite treats with someone you confide in and share everything with. A person who reaches this level of bond is what you’d call your “best friend”.
Junior Kaylee Cano has two special girls she is lucky to call her best friends that she treasures.
“My best friend’s name is Emily, and she’s 18,” Cano said. “My other best friend’s name is Cynthia and she’s 17. Me and Emily are cousins so naturally we grew to be close naturally. Cynthia and I met on the first day of sophomore year. I walked into lunch and she was sitting at the table with some other friends we knew. I just decided to sit next to her and after that we just clicked.”
Cano and her best friends bond over simple things that can be turned into great memories for them.
“Emily and I share a hobby of pickleball,” Cano said. “Almost every week we would have fun playing pickleball together.”
Emily’s success feels like Cano’s. She feels overjoyed when someone she loves achieves something.
“I’m really proud of her graduating high school, especially keeping track with all of her AP classes,” Cano said. “Her high school was pretty complicated and she had six AP classes her senior year. I would observe how hard it was on her. I was always there encouraging her, and sometimes I would assist her in studying. I was thrilled with her achievements.
Cano’s life changed when becoming best friends with Cynthia. Cano gained a partner she is able to do anything with
“I gained her someone that I could trust,” Cano said. “Someone that could understand me, and that I could spend time with. Just having her and being able to do school clubs, school events, or just in general going anywhere. I know I could count on her.”
Being there means showing up and Cano does just that by spending time and offering support.
“We would start off by communicating,” Cano said. “We’d ask each other what we felt or what we were going through, and we just gave each other advice. We gave each other a shoulder to lean on whenever things would get difficult.”
Colors can be used to describe the atmosphere of a person or a group of people.
“I feel like the color that represents them is yellow, because they always shine,” Cano said. “I don’t know how to explain it, but they’re such a kind group of people. When they’re around me they bring out the best in me, and I just feel as if they always light up like my days.”
