Sophomore Dailine Luna, began her first year in “The Rosette” Newspaper to improve her writing and possibly gain a new hobby for herself. She loves her two evil cats, Michi and Micho, and her crime fighting dog Rosita. Luna loves learning anything music related but absolutely can’t stand country music, besides Big green tractor (only exception). One of her all time favorite songs is “Charlotte sometimes” by The Cure. She loves watching puppet combo gameplays(Cory Kenshin gameplays) because she can’t afford to pay a 4.99$ game just to play it once and never touch it again. She finds herself being very studious this year and is trying her best so she can earn her way to a future fleshwater concert! Although Luna might not have hobbies, she has an open mind and is willing to try new things until she can finally find HER thing. Her favorite colors are purple and black because she thinks those are the easiest colors to mix and match around with. If she was to have an exotic pet she’d definitely get herself a capybara because she thinks they resemble her very well both appearance and personality wise.
Invading her heart: Luna rekindles a childlike feeling through the show “Invader Zim”

As she sits all alone with plushies surrounding her, inside a cute, cozy fort with the first episode queued up, feeling like a kid again and ready to giggle, she engages in one of her favorite pastimes.
Sophomore Dailine Luna has been finding comfort in the silliness of the show ‘Invader Zim’ since 2021. She was first introduced to the show through her For You Page on TikTok and her online friend in a Discord group.
“The monster guns, that’s the discord group,” Luna said. “I wasn’t one of those, but a lot of people on that server watched it. This is what made me get into it.”
It wasn’t until her friend told her about ‘Invader Zim’ for the first time that she actually started watching the show.
“My friend Scarlet kept sending me these GIFs, and I saw this cute little thing,” Luna said. “His name is Gir, and I fell in love with him right on the spot. Right after, I learned what the show’s called and I started watching it.”
She’s been watching the show for around 2 years now, but she still remembers what it was like watching it for the first time.
“I feel overstimulated, but in a good way,” Luna said. “I felt really excited when I was first watching it. I didn’t expect to laugh that much, and when I was watching it I felt very childlike. I felt like those types of kids who have their iPads and their juice.”
Now, when she rewatches it, it’s to tap into that childlike feeling again and giggle. This is a feeling that she wants to share with others too.
“I’d recommend it to someone who seems giggly too,” Luna said. “I feel like I would ask them to watch it with me so we could share, talk about it, and we could giggle. And the jokes are kind of old. They’re not offensive, but they’re very childish. Because I feel like the show’s a lot like feeling like a kid.”
Her favorite thing about ‘Invader Zim’ isn’t just the story, but also the character Zim, the villainous alien protagonist and her favorite character.
“I definitely like the plot and the character designs,” Luna said. “They’re all so cute. Especially Zim. He’s really funny, so I like his character.”
Zim was the standout part for her in the show, and who she feels people should watch the show for.
“I feel like since Zim is the funniest, I’d obviously bring him up,” Luna said. “I’d ask them to watch it because of him, and how he’s really hilarious. He’s evil… but I feel like he has a very soft spot. I know this is so cheesy, but he even said it before, something like he’s not a monster, he’s human.”
She’s made fanart of Zim and has some merch on her wishlist, but despite how much she likes it, she knows she wouldn’t be considered the biggest fan according to others.
“I’m not a super fan, but it’s something I enjoy,” Luna said. “I feel like I’m not a big enough ‘Invader Zim’ fan yet.”
That’s not what defines her relationship with ‘Invader Zim’, though. When she settles down with her plushies to watch the show, she knows what she’s coming for and she receives it: the giggles!
“I feel like a very giggly person,” Luna said. “I don’t wanna be negative all the time, so whenever I’m down I’ll just put on some ‘Invader Zim.”
